Many users interested in SPC flooring will pay attention to a question: is SPC floor easy to install? Today, we will give you a detailed introduction on how to install it.
When calculating the amount of flooring required according to the total building area, waste usually accounts for 5%. If installed according to a certain perspective, waste generally accounts for 10% to 15%;
Before installation, it is essential to let the flooring adapt to the new natural environment for 2 days. Place the flooring flat on a neat ground, control the room temperature between 18℃ and 29℃, and do not unwrap it. Pay attention to prevent sunlight exposure and large temperature changes.
The floating installation is generally on the ground of artificial board, OSB board, tiles or self-leveling cement.
The unevenness of the bottom layer should fluctuate within 2mm in the range of a two-meter ruler. Otherwise, an appropriate cement self-leveling should be used to level the ground. If there is no waterproof solution for the original ground, a layer of moisture-proof polyethylene film (lap the steel bars at the interface of two films by 20cm) should be laid.
Before installation, it is necessary to clean and remove dust to ensure that there is no dirt or gravel on the ground. Ensure that the ground is dry and clean. The nails and screw heads must be completely hammered in, and other protrusions on the ground should be leveled.
After consulting with the customer, determine the laying direction of the flooring. It is recommended to lay the flooring in the direction of the light, that is, to lay the flooring perpendicularly to the window. The benefit of doing so is that the flooring extends forward with the direction of the sunlight, enhancing the sense of vertical depth of the space, and visually making the space more spacious.
① Laying moisture-proof film (ground film): first lay a ground film above 2.0mm, align the interfaces of the films without overlapping, use waterproof adhesive tape to paste and seal the interface, and leave a margin of 5 centimeters against the wall. If there is solid wood skirting, a height of over 50mm should be raised at the wall.
② Formal installation:
Pre-installation: Before installation, unpack the flooring and place it according to different textures to see the installation effect.
Start installing the first row of flooring from the side of the door. To prevent the natural expansion of the flooring, a 4-10mm expansion joint should be reserved between the wall and the flooring, and one side with a tenon and groove should face outward, with a special pad inserted (which should be removed after the installation is completed).
Installation method: "Long before short, press before push": first fully press the female groove into the male groove, and then insert the long side of the flooring from the outside to the inside at a 45-degree angle. Then fully press the male groove into the female groove and use the same method to insert it obliquely. Continue to use the same method to install other flooring along the first piece of flooring.
During the installation process, when installing the last piece of the first row, the remaining part of the flooring needs to be measured by turning the flooring over. Be careful when handling the door frame and other irregular shapes, mark them first and then cut them.
When installing the second row of flooring, insert the protruding tenons of the short side into the grooves of the previous row of flooring, and gently insert the protruding tenons of the long side into the corresponding grooves of the flooring.
Use a rubber hammer to assist in laying when there is a gap.
Inspect the installation situation every four rows on average to ensure that there are no exceptions in the installation.
When installing the last row of flooring at the edge, it is necessary to seek the customer's opinions on whether to splice with the offcut or use a whole board. Explain the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods. After installation, walk back and forth to ensure that the flooring is not loose, has no suspension, and has no abnormal sound when stepped on.
After the flooring is laid without any abnormalities, remove the special pad blocks reserved for expansion joints.
